    Substrates:

    • Can be printed on all types of polyethylene
    • For polyethylene the treatment should be 38 dynes per / cm for good adhesion and optimum resistance properties
    • Ink Preparation:
    • 5 % of catalyst (Hardner A) and 5 % of catalyst (Hardner B) to be mixed with AR Ink at the time of printing and stirred well
    • Lower proportion of catalyst will lead to inferior resistance property

    Press Returns:

    • Press returns are mixed with the fresh inks in the ratio of 1:4. Amount of catalyst should correspond to the quantity of fresh ink

    Diluents:

    • The inks have a tolerance with a wide range of solvents to accommodate variation in press speed and conditions. Recommended diluents are Toluene or blend of Isopropyl Alcohol. Butyl Alcohol is recommended as Retarded

    Resistance:

    • The prints after a minimum of 48 hours of curing are kept immersed in 2% aqueous sodium hydroxide for 24 hours
    • The print are then rinsed under tap water and rubbed gently with cotton soaked in water. The prints must not come off. Two pack ultra Gloss AR inks are used for detergent packing, washing powder packing, oil / ghee packing, spices and all food packing containing oils and spices. Inferior resistance property could be as a result of:
    • a) Lower treatment level than recommended (38 dynes/cm)
    • b) Improper ratio of catalyst of catalyst not mixed property

    Versatile Substrates

Ultragloss ARSR Inks find their application in printing on a wide range of substrates. They are particularly effective on the following:

    • Polyethylene Films: The inks can be printed on all types of polyethylene films. For optimal adhesion and resistance properties, the polyethylene should be treated to 38 dynes/cm.
    • Polyester and BOPP Film: These inks are also well-suited for polyester and biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP) films, commonly used in flexible packaging solutions.

    Ideal for Various Products

These inks are perfect for printing on packaging materials used for:

    • Pan Oils and Vanaspati: Offering excellent resistance to oils and fats.
    • Soap Wrappers: Providing durability and resistance to moisture.
    • Detergent Packaging: Ensuring that the prints withstand exposure to harsh chemicals.
    • Spices and Food Packaging: Maintains integrity despite contact with oils and spices.

    Technical Specifications

    Substrate Preparation

For printing on polyethylene, it's essential that the film undergoes treatment to achieve a surface energy level of 38 dynes/cm. This ensures optimal adhesion and resistance properties, preventing issues like peeling and ink degradation.

    Ink Preparation

Proper preparation of Ultragloss ARSR Inks is crucial for achieving the best printing results. Follow these steps for ink preparation:

    1. Catalyst Addition: Mix 5% of Catalyst (Hardner A) and 5% of Catalyst (Hardner B) with the ink.
    2. Stirring: Ensure that the mixture is stirred thoroughly to achieve a homogenous solution.
    3. Proportions: Avoid using a lower proportion of catalysts as it could lead to inferior resistance properties.

    Press Returns

Press returns can be reused by mixing them with fresh ink in a 1:4 ratio. Ensure that the amount of catalysts added corresponds to the quantity of fresh ink used to maintain the ink's quality and performance.

    Diluents

Ultragloss ARSR Inks are compatible with a variety of solvents, allowing for adjustments based on press speed and conditions. Recommended diluents include:

    • Toluene: Commonly used for its fast-drying properties.
    • Isopropyl Alcohol: Used for its excellent solvency and moderate evaporation rate.
    • Butyl Alcohol: Recommended as a retardant to slow down the drying process when needed.

    Resistance Testing

To ensure that the prints maintain their quality under harsh conditions, follow this resistance testing procedure:

    1. Curing: Allow the prints to cure for a minimum of 48 hours.
    2. Immersion: Keep the prints immersed in 2% aqueous sodium hydroxide for 24 hours.
    3. Rinsing and Rubbing: Rinse the prints under tap water and gently rub them with cotton soaked in water. The prints should not come off.

    Issues with Inferior Resistance

Inferior resistance properties can arise due to:

    • Lower Treatment Levels: Ensure the substrate is treated to the recommended 38 dynes/cm.
    • Improper Catalyst Ratio: Adhere to the specified ratio of catalysts for optimal performance.

    Color Range

Ultragloss ARSR Inks are available in a full range of Pantone basic shades, including metallic colors and ARSR light-fast shades. This extensive color range allows for versatile printing options to suit various design requirements.
